This Is Why You Should Never Let Your Dog Lick You!
Lots of people would agree that is really cute when the big, wet and slobbery tongue of their dog is trying to lick their face. But often not healthy or savoury. We have more bad news: there is something much more sinister about it a kiss from your dearest pet.Even though your dog is genuinely trying to display the utmost affection to you, on its tongue there is a vast array of bacteria that may be harmful to your health.
And if you are asking if the dog mouths are cleaner than the human mouths, we will answer that question. No! It's a total myth.
Marty Becker is author of ‘Chicken Soup for the Dog Owner’s Soul, and there he explains that quite well. Namely, he says: “All you have to do is look, watch, smell and you’ll realize that is not true. They raid the garbage can. You know, we give each other a peck on the cheek when we say hello, they give each other a peck on the rear end.”
In addition to this, professor of virology and bacteriology at the Queen Mary University in London, John Oxford, expanded this explanation about how much bacteria the dog’s muzzle and mouth is able to carry.
He says: “It is not just what is carried in saliva. Dogs spend half their life with their noses in nasty corners or hovering over dog droppings so their muzzles are full of bacteria, viruses and germs of all sorts.”
It is important that people realise these viruses and germs can cause a lot of medical conditions that are hazardous to human health. One woman from U.K. unfortunately learned that the hard way.
To be more precise, the woman in quesion contracted an infection from her Italian greyhound’s mouth. She actually didn’t realize that something is wrong until she was speaking on the phone with a relative and began to notice her speech slurring.
Until the ambulance arrived, she already was slumped in her chair, as her health was degrading rapidly. After two weeks of intensive care and plenty of antibiotics she recovered and now she is feeling good.
The blood tests showed that this infection is caused by capnocytophaga canimorsus bacteria, which most commonly is found in the mouths of dogs and cats.
Unfortunately, she is not the only case – there have been 13 similar cases throughout the UK.
That is not the only disease that your dog can pass onto you through his affection. Here is a list of potentially dangerous health scares your pooch may give you:
Ringworm Infection
The ringworm infection probably is one of the easiest diseases that your dog can pass onto you from smooching. In case if there is ringworm bacteria around your dog’s mouth and you engage in kissing – there will be ringworm for you too.
MRSA
MRSA is infection which produce lesions and at humans easily can be caused by one lick from the dog.
Vets explain that dogs can carry around this bacteria with very little effect or without any effect on their own health. Still, if the owner comes into contact with it the situation is much complicated.
Staphylococcus Aureus
The staphylococcus aureus is very similar to MRSA. This similar bacteria, which can be found in dog’s mouth is not as resistant to treatment.
Capnocytophaga Canimorsus
This is most certainly the worst bacteria. How bad you ask?
This man was had capnocytophaga canimorsus infection which, according to his doctor, was caused by a dog licking his open wound. His feet were even worse, and one foot had to be partially amputated.
We think you get the picture. Our advice is to avoid all kisses from your dog.

Once Again Home Made Dog Food.
I have had a bunch of people asking me about my homemade dog food and how I make it. Here is the recipe, that I use for my dogos.
I cook 10lbs of chicken at a temperature of 350 degrees for 3 hours or until the meat is falling off the bone, if you don't cook it long enough it's a pain in the butt to debone.
I boil a dozen eggs.
I cut up one pound of carrots and two and half pounds of potatoes.
I boil the carrots and potatoes until they are very soft, the softer they are the easier they are for a dog to digest.
I debone the chicken and pull the it apart.
Mix the chicken in with the potatoes and the carrots.
I take a can of corn, peas, and green beans and put them in a blender.
I add a banana
I add 5 Pro-Sense Vitamins
|
Than I blend them all together, because dogs have very short digestive systems and blending veggies makes it easier for the dog to digest. Than mix it in with the chicken, carrots and potatoes.
I use a potato masher and crush up the eggs.
Mash the eggs shell and all until they are small, then add it to the mix. Mix everything together and than put it into containers. Put the mix into the refrigerator or put it into the freezer if you want to store it for a couple of months.
I cook rice everyday to mix in with the dog food, you don't have to do this if you don't want to. You could cook rice and add it to your mix and than refrigerate it, but if you are going to freeze it, I would not add the rice because cooked rice does not freeze well. I cook four cups of rice and keep adding water until it is mushy, once again it will make it easier for you dog to digest.
Mix your dog food with rice and give to your dog. My dogs just love it!
Here is what it looks like when you make enough food for 3 big dogs for 10 days and this does not even have the rice added.
I hope this helps, remember to slowly introduce each ingredient to your dog so if they have a adverse reaction to something you can keep it out of your food. Thanks for reading, God Bless!

Alex and Petey 9 week old male Dogo Argentino Puppies for sale
I only have 3 puppies left Alex, Petey and Rocky. Today I wormed Alex and Petey and gave them their second round of shot. After that is was time for a photo shoot, so I could post updated pictures. Rocky was not feeling well and I did not want him to feel worse so I decided to wait a couple of days and let him recover. If he is not better by tomorrow I will be taking him to the Vet, poor little guy. I will keep everyone informed on how he is doing.
